Today the Bulgarian Association of Professional Associations (BSLAF) celebrates one year since it was officially declared an independent professional association.
Dear colleagues medical assistants and paramedics,
Today, the Bulgarian Union of Medical Assistants and Paramedics (BULAF) is one year since it was officially proclaimed an independent professional organization that represents, supports and protects the rights and interests of medical assistants and paramedics.
All of us who have worked and fought for many years to have a BSLAF have stubbornly gone through a difficult and obstacle-filled road until 2024, when the bill for a separate and independent professional organization of medical assistants was finally adopted by the 49th National Assembly and promulgated on May 1, 2024 in the 39th issue of the State Gazette. This marked the beginning of BSLAF as an organization within the meaning of the Law on Professional Organizations of Nurses, Midwives, Associated Medical Specialists, Medical Assistants, Dental Technicians and Assistant Pharmacists.
On that day, a year ago, the time that caused great damage to our profession and to our home healthcare – the dependence of medical assistants and paramedics on other professions in Bulgaria – finally came to an end. We found a valuable opportunity for a new vision and future prosperity of the profession. We have revived the profession from the ashes. This fills us with pride and gives us the strength to overcome the challenges of building the new – part of the path of any young organisation.
The first year of the unification of our profession began with a lot of administrative and organisational work on the board of BULAF – a series of registrations in state institutions, the establishment of regional structures, the integration of the UIN into the NZIS, finding offices, continuous working meetings with state and other structures solely in order to increase the status and authority of the profession. This year we met many supporters and friends of the unification, as well as some enemies. But we move forward with pure thoughts, strength and energy to bring our main goal – a prosperous and respected profession of medical assistant – to completion. We know that to achieve successful results requires tireless, hard work, perseverance and time. Then the facts speak for themselves.
I thank all of you who have provided us with and continue to provide support in order to realise our common mission – the affluent profession of Medical Assistant and the prosperous Bulgarian Union of Medical Assistants and Paramedics.
Happy Holidays, Colleagues!
Be healthy!
With respect,
Alexander Alexandrov
President
the Board of BSLAF
